Hi
I live in France and have just bought a Bavaria A60 motorhome on a Fiat 2.8JTD. Can any one tell me what is the red knob with a clockwise facing red arrow under the bonnet that appears to be connected to heating system? Is it some sort of winter/summer setting knob? Any help on this appreciated. Please E mail on - [email protected] :slayer:

Hi

Many thanks so far. I will try to post a photo of said knob in next couple of days for you to view.

A thought that occurs to me is that it might be in some way connected to an on board fan heater under the table in camper van. This might run off the hot water in the radiator and associated system.

Cheers

Theres probably a secondary heater in the van, water will take the easiest path so they probably put it in to restrict the flow to the main heater.

....broadly as above.

Assuming it is connected to the engine cooling system, it is likely to be the flow control to a heat exchanger in the secondary (fan) heater that you've already highlighted. Turning it will regulate the flow, and hence the heat input and output.

I had a similar arrangement on couple of motorhomes I've owned, though on one the equivalent control was on the heater, and on the other it was on the dash (both simply restricted the flow in the additional, auxiliary heater circuit).

Many thanks indeed.
I sort of guessed it might be a feed/control valve for the on board heater under the table.

Problem solved!
Nice to know that there some helpful people out there.
