....and it's like driving a completely different car...
It was way out and seized (mechanic not happy having to spend so much time on it...brings me back to my years at Ford lol), I've never had tracking make such a difference before..

Had to post something positive for a change. Lol. Two months til MOT... Might turn my smile into a frown, but ? for now

Selling my beautiful black 17" alloys, any interest?

i've just spent getting on £250 on mine and the tracking was one of the jobs that was something that i'd been putting off myself for sometime but now it's done i'd forgotten how nice it was to drive

I always do my own tracking and have never had any problems with uneven tyre wear. It may sound daunting but when you have done it once you will ask yourself why you never did it before. The easiest way is to get an old set of Gunsons Wheel True (note NOT the Trackrite or the Track Ace). The Wheel True are simply two identical Metal square tubes with cut outs to accomodate the tyres and slots on either end into which you fit two standard tape measures, one at the front and one at the rear. the tae measures extend between the bars at either side of the car effectively creating a rectangle using the wheels as the shorter sides of the rectangle at either end.

You then simply adjust the track rods until both tape measures have the same measurement and hey presto one perfectly aligned set f front wheels.

Now the other method I use which is along the same concept but instead aligns the front wheels to the rear ones is to use strong string to create a rectangle all the way around the car. Here you use spaces of identical measurements ( 8 pencils do the job fine) to create 8 touch points all the way around the car between the tyres, the string and the pencils. Clearly if one pencil slips through the string then that wheel is not perfectly in alignment and you adjust until you have a consistent hold between all pencils and the string right round the car. Once again you have a perfect rectangle meaning true alignment. Plenty of vids on youtube showing this method.

Obviously taking the car to a shop is the easiest but teaches you nothing and costs. Either way DIY or PAY it certainly makes a difference.
