I have just bought a new aircon condenser from Advanced Radiators for £110 as for my JTD Multipla. Fair enough. But does anyone have a quick guide as to how to replace the rotten one?

Bumper off, there are 3 torx 30 under each wheel arch. Best take the liners out as it makes it easier…. then there are the 4 on top of the slam panel and 4 torx underneath the bumper….The gas is poisonous so make sure it is fully expelled from the system.Do not stand near the gas being expelled. When you pull the pipe off it will still have a bit left in it and will pop when pulled off. There are 4 screws holding the condenser to its mounting, these are easily de-threaded if you screw them too hard as they go into plastic 8mm heads… no sniggering at the back… there are two pipes connected by 10mm bolts the left upper should be easy, but the right lower may be seized as this sits in the open. If it is seized it is best to drill it from the back of the bolt, first by drilling the head off then the bolt. Then drill out the 6mm bolt body. Try keep it straight. Do not damage the face of the connecting a/c pipe as that is expensive at over £110 plus vat… I know as I damaged mine!!! If you can get hold of some red rubber grease to smear on the connecting pipe seals( these should be green little o rings, replace them if you can as the shrink with age. When you get it re-gased get some more PAG oil into the system 10/20ml. Too little and the compressor will seize up… check the a/c pressor sensor, is the seal breached and opened out(it has a black plastic seal underneath it)is there oil in the sensor??? If the sensor is duff it will not switch the system on,I have a spare one if needed……I hope this helps you… I just wish I had taken some photo's but the lower bolt seizing in ruined the day and I was in a bit of a mood…..While you are down there check the condition of the radiator support bracket as they do rust through……these are about £56.00 from fiat but you could easily make one if you are handy……good luck…...
