General Multiplas Owners Flash and Wave !!!

Oooohh yes. You are indeed sad. You are driving a car. I'm sure most of you will have seen a car before. Some people point at aeroplanes, some people point at fire engines. But they don't feel the need to wave. See your doctor.

Has anyone seen the "pimped" Multi for sale on ebay. It is an ex clarion display car and has been transformed. Check it out.

Dont expect them to wave back:D
Really, really wouldn't want them to! I'd be pointing it out as 'the Clarion Multipla that was on eBay'. I've seen other Multiplas - I drive one and it's my second.

Apart from the wave/don't wave conversations, all the Multipla sites are valuable to keep everyone up to date with recalls etc, and of course the mechanical and electrical fixes that Multiplas occasionally need.

I think I saw it, it is good if you want to drive about in a mobile ghettoblaster playing that bump bump bump bump music but it robs the multipla of it's versatility regarding internal space.

Hey you mk2 guys, I love ya! Had the worlds most troublesome Multi for over 2 years now and I wave and flash and everything. Even with the Mayor in the car........

Gentlemen, I am an italian enthusiast for one of the most genial cars ever made... I bought a Multipla Multijet 1.9 120hp few weeks ago. I am quite satisfied although some small (fiat) problems like the quality of some parts. In Italy the MY2006 Multipla (that's the name of the last version) costs quite a lot (about 24.000 Euros) so.... Well ..I have to admit that fiat is doing a very good job, the free phone number is always ready to answer and to address you to the closest dealer, the warranty is working and it is reliable.
I used to own a Renault and before a Nissan, but so far I am very satisfied to have bought a fiat.

As far as I know, Multipla is still selling good so, it seems that she 'll stay on the market at least for the whole 2008.
I do't know in the UK but in Italy hey have sold tons of Multipla, the most famos is the "Natural Power", equipped with a 1.6 petrol/metan gas engine with the best autonomy among the cars of the western market.
Is the metan gas popular in the UK?

Sorry to drag this back up but I didn't want to start another topic about the same subject.

Being a Biker, and an ex-owner of minis (the real ones, not that hideous BMW clone ), Beetles (ditto, just replace 'BMW' with 'VW'), VW Campers and a 2CV, I'm more than used to waving (well, more just a lift of the fingers from the steering wheel than a full-blown wave), flashing or nodding in acknowledgement of other riders/owners.
I've been doing it recently to Multiplas, maybe only 6 or 7 to date, but have either been ignored totally, or met with a puzzled expression from the other driver(s).

I realise the Multipla never really reached the 'cult' (double-check spelling...OK) status of the above vehicles (and others I've not owned), but it's unique enough I'd have thought to have that sort of camaraderie among it's owners

Thoughts?

Hmmmm, an Italian salute eh?

Re: Multiplas Owners Flash!

If I could afford a second, I would go for a 126.

I have my much loved 126 tucked up in the garage:). I agree 126's are great mine is a J reg one in Red which I affectionately call Zot:eek:. I used to run him alongside a Cinqcento but when I had children realised they are not safe enough to ferry children around in and so he is now resting until the kids are older.
I must admit though when I get strange looks driving the multi they are nothing in comparison to the looks I got driving Zot. The fuel economy on the 126 is fantastic though as they are only a 704cc engine. The multipla obviously beats it on speed though as you only manage 65mph if the road is on slight slope downhill.
In the 126's favour the road tax and insurance was cheap although I doubt I'd fit 4 kids in the back.:D

There used to be a 126 around that had a large (approx 2 foot across) plywood dummy clockwork key sticking out of the engine access door. It was driven round slowly by a geared motor...classic :D
