I've got an 07 year multipla now in its 3rd year of warranty and the door seals have started coming off the doors:(

The drivers one is well on its way off and, when I checked the others, at least 2 more are unstuck in places.

Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know if the 3rd year warranty will cover me to get this repaired?

What a strange way of fitting door seals...they appear to have been glued on?

Thanks all

Hi,I had this on my 06 just before I changed it last month the door rubbers were all coming away but because I was changing it I didn't look into getting them done.I know in the 3rd year that trim is not covered and I am 99% sure that the door rubbers won't be covered but it would be worth ringing your local main stealer to check:confused:

Not covered in the third year unfortunately

Ask anyway. Good customer service and all that. I think I read that stereos aren't covered under warranty officially, but I've had mine replaced free of charge anyway. Worth a go.

I don't know if newer bugs are different to older ones, but our door seals just kind of push fit onto the doors, they are not glued - from time to time they pop off and I just slip them back on, it is quite a positive fit, you know when they are on properley :D

Thanks for the replies so far:eek:,

Zundapp, I think mine have done the same as yours, in the very hot weather I had on holiday abroad the rubbers have stretched and come off the door in places. They now appear to be too long to just glue back on though, did you have to peel them off completely and trim/cut them before you glued them back on?

Cheers

I started roughly in the middle of the rubber, working outwards and did it bit by bit - but I waited till the weather was cooler.

Mind you, that's most of the year here!

Mine are the same. I just push them back on. Sometimes it's best not to lose sleep over stuff like this. Far better to find something really big to worry about, like your cambelt breaking... ;)

multieddie,

I've had three cam belts go in the past. A Mk3 Escort, a 123 series Mercedes estate and a Renault Espace Mk2.........lots of ££££££££ sadly, sorry if yours has gone.

I would push the door seals back on if that's how they now fit but, at some point in the past, Fiat decided it would be a great idea for the door seals to be glued on, not a push fit like any other normal vehicle!

Happily my belt hasn't gone yet (touch wood) though it's only a matter of time... Sorry for the smarmy reply - wasn't really helpful!

Suppose it's part of the Multi's quirky charm. Best bit of wacky design is the spare wheel carrier! Make sure you raise and lower it regularly and grease the winch cable(!) when you do. Mine's seized into position! And I thought my Citroen BX was an oddball car! Got to love it though!

I am suprised that this has happened on your 07, mines an 05 and it's just started to peel off so i guess i'll have to do mine aswell.
Interesting thing is that those sticky door transfers that are a constant source of iritation to so many Multi owners are also staring to come off and my Local Fiat Garage have quoted me £20 per transfer + at least an hour's labour.

Watch Out!!

I have a 2001 multipla and live in Portugal. My door rubbers are just starting to come off, in fact the drivers door one has totally split now but as my car is 11 years old I would like to replace them, does anyone know where I can buy new ones. I need both front door rubbers, rear doors are fine.

Yes bit of heat and mine go all squidgy too. Transfer tapes are all shot too, would condder getting mine painted rather than replace i think
