So what has been done so far? Well its got a fairly new backbox - but middle pipe went, replaced under its warrenty

Given him a darn good clean and wash, but lasts all of 5 mins been yellow :(

Pulled all the roof gutter seals out and cleaned the rubbish out from there
Also had the windows screen trim rubber and cleaned all around there :)

what i wanna do is get everything cleaned up, tidy alot up
add a few features i want back in :)

But here we go :)

So i did the roof gutters - they were really really ready.... which means all the cack runs down the rear lights.....

So out they come

Well i've done a little more work today

Checked the gearbox has sufficient fluid - All okay :)

Remove - Cleaned - Gapped - Refitted My Spark plugs
All a nice lovely Lovely brown colour (See punto guides)

Also removed and cleaned my throttle body - DAM how much tar like stuff is in there.....

Love the car mate my mum used to have the exact same thinks eerie found my love for puntos keep up the good work

Its my pride and joy
All my cars get my love and attention they require

I dont mind removing nuts and bolts just to copper grease them for potential future removement - For example like today

had the 2 rear bottom anchor point bolts out - cleaned - painted - copper slipped - torqued back up

did same for the Rear back rest bottom bolts - but 1 snapped Dam it...
(tighten - tighten - tighten - PING!)
Thats another days job now...

had all 8 of the Rear hub bolts off - Both Damper units as well

I keep a record of what i've done too! but i wont upload here lol

Nice car and looks really good. Coming up a treat :) Love the colour. Mine is orange and hard to keep clean.

I try to keep my car clean but all I can do is have it washed and serviced. I cant do it myself. i wouldnt know how :( If I paid to have it all done i bet it would a bomb lol. I cant see any rust bits yet but again i cant see underneath :(

Alot of people fear working on cars - yet! ALOT of things are simple nuts and bolts

dont help im studying as a mechanic :)

Ziggy

it maybe simple nuts and bolts but to me if i get it wrong its my fault. I would love to clean my car up the way you are. Sealing it underneath and greasing things etc. I have a bulging disc due to caring for my mum so have to be careful what i do. can I hire you to do it lol.

i Wish - i never get to stop, only getting an odd day here and there todo things like this

A clutch is on the cards for me soon too!:cry:

My judder is getting bad......

ziggy

oh no. when you say judder does it do it all the time.... ours judders a tiny bit but its when the balance of clutch and gas is not right when trying to park as if i am holding the car down too much. i learnt in a diesel so still getting used to petrol. i dont get much time to do much with caring either.

AG Intensive tar remover should do the trick or if its actually in the paint try AG Paint Renovator

Yea i tried that
Didnt do anything - i put lots of dabbed it as instructed on bottle
Left it - it claims it'd then run
It didnt :(
So i rubbed it gently - did nothing :(

I gave up
i have tried it several times but have a feeling its iron fall out from the previous owner :(

Well confressions of mechanic-oholic..... in my due haste when i refreshed the drums i made a careless mistake and didnt put the shoe back under anchor point.....
Meaning the adjuster went to max and didnt work + that horrible scraping noise

Anyway - Decided to look and rectified it
Glad to say - Holy COW i've got a handbrake!!!

Not much news to report really

He's had his thermostat changed for a Used one from my old punto that i know works

I've now got some heat in the cabin and it warms up nicely too!!

At the same time the cooling system was drained - refilled with water to flush it

Then a Nice strong mix of Anti-freeze and water in :)
Spent ages bleeding it - finally no air at all!!

Tested - protects down to -27C which is better then -10, i now have a history of it too!

Tested the cooling system pressure, found i had 2 leaks, one from the bottom rad hose, sorted that with a nip up on the clip
The Radiator bleed valve also was leaking slightly - nipped that up, both from me when i was bleeding and refilling

It now hold 1bar pressure a doddle :)

The Interior fan has been de-squeakifyed

And 2 new tyres are on there way!! i cant stand my front tyres in the wet :(
