What's made you not grumpy but not smile either today?

Power cut today so I haven't been able to bake cakes for tomorrow's track day.

I have a ruddy great generator outside my garden...

...keeping the neighbors happy.

My bedroom sounds like I'm sat in a cruising C-130 so I should sleep well tonight.

Wing repair is done, not sure if I'm being an overly precious dick about it but while it's the right colour to my eye it's a little bit obvious where it was done as the shadow falls wrong on the crease. But at the same time given where it is and the fact the car is pearlescent I don't know if it would be actually possible to get it perfect without doing the whole wing again which would then need to blend into the door and bonnet. On the subject of bonnets it was only half covered during spraying by the look of it as there is a beautiful line where the masking ended..which I shall hopefully polish out when I'm allowed to.

On the plus side the crack in the paint was found to go all the way to the metal so I'm glad it's patched up.

Checking the MOT history website, and seeing that my parents old metallic orange Punto mk2 ELX hasn't been tested this year, so I can only assume it has been scrapped. [emoji20]

Thank you for the 8.5 years of stylish, reliable service you gave us, and for making me realise how good Fiats are.

Rust In Peace, W815 OCU. :(

3 years ago today since my parents traded it in. I still miss it. :(

It's the lot of the cheap car used until no longer viable then scrapped. I've had 4 previous cars only one that's still on the road is the Suzuki under a private plate. I forget the plate but the defect list on the last mot was a little long. The defect list on my wife's old micra ran to quite a few pages but all advisory so it still lives although it's untaxed but was freshly mot'd in Feb so probably still around given tax is only 15 days over.

I must admit, if I had somewhere to keep them, I would dearly love to have both the Puntos in that picture back. My old grey 1 is still going: it's just been mot'd again, but I do wonder how much longer it'll survive for.

One of my neighbours has the following cars:
Audi S3 in black
Audi S3 in blue
Audi RS3 in black
Audi A3 in silver...

I'm sure they are great cars n'all but if I could afford four really expensive cars I'd be a bit more varied in my fleet!

Sounds like one of them will be full of drugs lol, probs the silver a3!

trawling my PC for some tech info pics..

I found pics of our old 156:cool:

really good car 1.8 TS , and 65K miles

hardinge 011.jpg

sold it on when we were not really using it,

sadly found it in a local scrap yard 6 months later
( probably due to the long-term airbag squib's intermittent fault light becoming an MOT fail)

'M' sport badges on every BMW has annoyed me today. Sat at some lights when a youth in a 1 - series pulls up along side, going onto a dual carriageway so expected him to get a move on, he pulls off and ahead of another car then fails to get anywhere. I see looking at the back it's a 118 with M badges all over it.

The car he fails to get away from is an old boy in a 406 estate.

Seriously no point trying to look cool I. A fancy car with M-Sport all over it if you can't put accelerate a sensible family estate car from the late 90s
