Fiat Punto 2003 Dynamic Custom Head Unit

Hi,
I have just purchased a fiat punto 2003 Dynamic, with the standard cd player fitted. I have purchased an autoleads punto facia, to fit my kenwood stereo from my previous punto, but have come across a major problem! The facia will not fit into the 2003 Dynamic, no matter how much I move it about, push it, force it in etc. I tried buying another facia from halfords, but still came across the same problem!

I would hate to have to sell my stereo, ipod adaptor and recently purchased stealth shelf, so any help would be much appreciated! cheers

Believe me they are little buggers to get in! Have had this problem on so many they just do not clip in! Only thing I can suggest is fitting the facia in some other way, screwing it in etc.

I think they only way we got around it was to trim it in some way I can't quite remember and then physically fix it in.

Should the facia just clip into place? or is that not the idea of them on the max power forum somebody said that it was becuase it was a 2003 model? As an alternative, could the facia's from fiat be an option?

Yes that is the idea that they just clip into place, and once clipped in they are strong enough to support the head unit in place. Look at the back of the facia adaptor you've got and you'll see 4 clips but on putting it in you'll see that they never do clip in and it's really hard to get them to clip in. The only other car that causes such problems are Ford KA's where the hazard switch is in the facia, this can cause the facia to pop out going over bumps as the clips aren't quite strong enough.

I don't think Fiat do a facia do they?

Went to a fiat dealership today and bought a facia adaptor for £16. Fits absolutely perfectly!
