hi guys i have a mk2 punto 2002 plate and also a a 53 plate facelift model

the 2002 has a cd player where as the 53 has a cassette radio in it anyway i tried to do a swap ove but not getting any power to any of them but soon as i put them back in original cars they are fine i have read something about the CAN is there anyway round this etc any help would be great

First thought is that both radios will have been coded to the cars, so would not work unless you have the code for each one. This should still show power though, and request the code.

Next thought, the early car may not be CanBus, and the later car is, so they connect very differently. Look at the power cable in the car. Early one has several cables, the later probably only four, two of which are small.

Best answer is to fit an aftermarket head unit, but you'll need a CanBus adaptor too. Lots of threads on this.
