hey all.
i have a 1.2 8v mk2 5dr, with a pair of sony's in the rear next to the parcel shelf in the original housing, and a pair of FLi's on the front, under the grill but attached to the plastic.
now im not sure if i've set these up right.
i bought two sheets of sound deadening things from halfords the other day.
i planned to take my door panel off and attach the speakers under that, but they wouldnt fit, and the sound deadening sheets won't go into the plastic housing, right? so how do i install the speakers correctly?
they came with lots of little black clips aswell, which i havent used as i put them into the original speaker housing.
someone on here told me aswell that fli's are crap, so im thinking of getting some different ones. any recommendations? not anything expensive though.

also, what is a good sub for under £100? preferably with a built in amp.
cheers all.

I think that he meant one of the Dynamat door kits that are sposed to go on the skin of the door which probably wont happen in the punto. Is it the door kit if so is there any chance that you can take it back or use it to do the outer skin of the doors. You should have saved your money and gone for the group buy for deadening.
Subs under £100 well if its with the amp you want the cheapest and best option is one of the JBL packages from caraudiosecurity.com and caraudiodirect.com.
If you want to spend £100 on just the sub then i am loving the SNG Jatt right now, i just installed a couple in a mates car and they are absolutely singing off 500w RMS and can take up to 1.2KW RMS if set up properly. You can get them through me.

Im afraid that i cant really help with the front speakers i cant remember the MK2 set up. Normally you build an MDF baffle to screw the speaker into, is there any way that you could do this.

yeah, the dynamat door kits, thats the one. i see, so they fit onto the actual car shell itself? under the door cards? i tried fitting my speakers under the door cards, but they were too deep and hit the glass behind it, so i gave up and just put them where the stocks were.

yeah, i'm looking at one with a built in amp really as i have no idea how amps/wiring/etc work. i currently have this jvc head unit, its good as far as i know.
no amp, but running these in the front and these in the back.
does this have an amp built in?

It doesnt make a difference if you buy one with the amp built in or not you still have to wore them all the same. The only difference is that you dont have to wire the sub to the amp which is just 2 wires like you would connect any home speaker to a Hi Fi.

That sub doesnt have the amp in and you are paying about £40 for the bandpass enclosure but i have been reassured that it is pretty good for the money. (y)

Remember to buy a 4 gauge autoleads or knukonceptz wiring kit to make your system future proof. (y)
