Cinquecento/Seicento Changing the boot lock on a seicento (MK1)

Now to the object of the exercise, changing the barrels over.

First, prise off the plastic cover, just use a flat head screw driver to push the plastic clip

you might find that you need to support one side with your thumb while you push the other side off.


With the long flat edge of the back plate facing downwards you should see the lock barrel retaining clip in a slit of the rotating collar use a screwdriver to lift the clip out


The lock barrel should simply pull out

Once the barrel has been removed clip the plastic cover back on to the mech, then push the new barrel in

it will only push home in two positions so if it fits it's aligned properly

Once the barrel is in place insert the retaining clip, you may need to push it down with the end of a scew driver


I'd check that the lock works


Then it's time to go outside again...
