Hi Guys,

Recently been having troubles with the dualogic on my Grande Punt0 2007 1.4. These problems were jumping out of gear and check transmission error messages.

I noticed a substantial leak on the front of the unit just below the accumulator. I believe this is the "Gear Engagement Position Sensor". So in error I thought to disassemble, clean and reassemble.

Unfortunately I have ****ed it up and made it worse.

The car will now only go into 2nd and Neutral. It shows the error code of P1818 - Gearchange Control.

I have tried the following:

Multiscan bleed/ initial setup etc.
swapped over potentiometers and ensured the have been correctly pre-loaded.
topped up fluid
visual inspection of no other problems.

Any help will be greatly appreciated before I kill myself.

For anyone interested I managed to resolve the problem.

With reference to the attached image it appears that the engagement pin needs to be turned fully clockwise with some pliers which will then seat it into a ball socket, my fingers were just not strong enough.

Could I ask a quick question as I'm struggling to find an answer or post on here. When you start the car up and change into reverse or over to auto 1 so it's make a slight clicking noise? I've not had the car long and noticed it last week. I took it to a garage and they said it's normal. Does yours do that? Thanks

Thankyou so much. I had so many problems with my last car it's got me paronoid. Thankyou again

All sorted now?

Hello everybody,

I did what you suggest and I broke the pin! My fault. Can you please explain further how you dit it? Did you for instance remove the sensor for its place? Thanks.
