Evening all

I have a confusing problem with my GP's boot.

It opens fine from the keyfob, but the button on the dash don't work.

Ive had the dash apart, cleaned the button contct surfaces, and checked the plug, no dice.

Anyone else had this problem? Did a search but only results came back for complete failure of the boot latch, which mine still works, just not from the dash.

Disclaimer: i do not know how the GP boot buton works, but logically there will only be 2 ways didital (can) and analogue.

If analogue you need to check 1.the button and 2.the wires between the button and the body computer.

is the boot button a simple switch?
or does it use a circuitbord to communicate through the CAN network with the Body computer?
It should be pretty obvious by looking at the connectors and the number of wires.
The Hazard lights will be separate and the will be analogue.
You should still have 4 more wires if it's analogue.
If the connector only has 3 it might be digital (CAN).

does the boot open if you just use a paperclip jumper from one of the wires to the next?
Or more simply use a multimeter to check if the button closes the circuit when pressed.

You should use eLearn to follow the wires from the button to where it connects ( maybe the body computer)

Then check each wire for continuity.

if it's CAn the should make it simpler.
If the city button works then the CAN communication should be good.
That leaves the boot button itself.

Take it out, take the buttons apart and make sure you bridge the contacts.

the boot should open.

Just a quick notice, you have to keep pressing the button for a sec to open the boot.

I'm sure you know that but...

(iirc you got the car recently?)
