When the car is cool it boosts properly, coming on hard around 2000 rpm and building nicely from about 1600rpm but when the engine is hot i get no boost until 2400rpm and the power is very poor below that, this is especially noticeable in 1st and 2nd gear, the boost seems to come on a little earlier around say 2100/2200rpm in 3rd gear onwards when the engine is warm it feels a little better but the power just isnt there like when its not all the way up to temp.

Any ideas??? the EGR is mapped out but no blanking plate. Its got a working MAF (replaced 3months ago, genuine unit) Cleaned the MAF and EGR a few months ago before the EGR was mapped and didnt improve.

The map sensor working alright? Maybe wrong in saying that but being mass air pressure and done the mass air flow sensor would of thought would go together

Possibly... ive cleaned it once and it was covered in carbon. I just dont want to go around replacing everything until its fixed as it gets expensive very quickly. Maybe for £60 a genuine MAP sensor might help

You not tried a diagnostic just in case something showing up? I'd agree with you on not replacing everything as starts costing loads. You not know anyone that got same car or same map sensor that's fine so can try that before you buy one? Would say check for air leaks but that wouldn't explain why fine until warned up. This is due to if had air leaks more than likely would be all the time

I've just read on Alfa owners forums that someone with a 147 1.9jtd had same issue. Turned out to be intake manifold (the flow shutter valve was oily and gungy). Worth I check before replacing the map sensor
