Hello,

I believe I need a new battery for my 2008 Grande Punto.

When I enter my reg number of halfords or euro parts it say the battery I need is HB202 which is 40AH

However the original batter in my car is 50AH

Below is an image of the original batter in my car

So I'm now confused which type of battery I should buy.

I phoned my Fiat garage and they said they do 2 different batteries for my car reg No. one which is just over 40AH and the other just over 60AH

What would you recommend me to do?

Many Thanks.

I have and would put a slightly stronger than needed in, so a higher AH and/or CCA one. The 1.2 only needs a 40 and 370CCA ( from memory), I've put a 440 in. A diesel will need a more powerful battery. Just take a stronger one, they hardly cost more, and will probably last longer .

Had a battery check from halfords today. They said the battery is fine just needs a good charge.

Would it be best to go out in it for a while with no music or any extras on

or to use a car battery charger?

Many Thanks.

I've been having battery problems too, went with a 50AH Exide battery from EuroCarParts - was recommended by a mechanic but its entirely up to you.
I wouldn't think it would matter a whole heap if you had a 40AH battery?

Can't see from the photo but if it's the type that can be topped up make sure it is then always best to use a battery charger

Did you get your battery sorted out we replaced the daughters with a bosh one but after a year it started not engaging the starter so replaced starter and still same so bought one of ebay new with delivery £35.50 and its either a 60 or 62amp and no problems touch wood if you need the item number let me know and I will try and find it

This is the item number 271412192833 that we fitted but I see with your picture you have the different earth pole but you could replace the earth strap easy done
