Hey guys!

My '06 GP 1.3 Mjet has been acting up lately. Accelerating on the german autobahn it went into limp mode when it came across 3200 rpm in fifth gear.
Restarting it won't change the Engine Management light but turns off the limp mode, from then on it works like a charm. Starts right away, turbo works, no struggling or anything.
OBD2 /ECU throws out two codes:
P0102 MAF circuit low input
P0234 Engine overboost condition

I'm not too "techy"
How can i find our whether it's a sensor problem or a problem with the turbo itself? (On a very low budget)
Heard something about a "waste valve" on the turbo not opening thus putting too much pressure somewhere (would explain the P0234).
Also does the P0102 say it's an electrical circuit that has low input or is the Air Mass too low?
Could the sensor simply be dirty?
Like from debris in the air flow.

posts occasionally get missed

Maf sensors are a trouble area on these engines i would look into this first before worrying about the other error

i assume you've tried clearing the errors and seeing if they come back, sometimes these errors can be old or a one off which doesn't occur

Yes i cleared the codes but after two weeks the same errors came back

So i'll try and have a look at the sensor first.
I'll report ;)

Short update: didn't get my hands on the sensor yet but noticed that the problem also occurs below 3000 rpm
Just had it at approx 2500, sudden full throttle in 5th gear, warm engine.
Even though i accelerated just as sudden a few times before.

Is it safe to drive or could it damage the engine/ turbo?

Merry Christmas btw :)
