Hi all, I've noticed today that my car is making a clunking sound when I come off the accelerator, and if im cruising at 70mph then take my foot off the gas it just clunks constantly until I put the power back on. Does it sound like the engine mount has failed? I can easily replace it im just not wanting to spend money on something that hasn't failed. Ive also popped the bonnet and tried rocking the engine and it does a bit but I cannot get it to clunk, also if im in neutral and rev it I cannot get it to do it, only when im driving. Thanks for any help

I have a similar problem, but mine occurs in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. mainly when i am lightly accelerating and then just lift my foot off, i get a clunk and a noticeable jolt in the car.

I presume its a gearbox mount problem, is it the one on the rear of the gearbox?
