Hi Everyone
Just thought I'd let you all know how my M32 gearbox repair went.
First the symptoms
I had pronounced whine in 3rd and 4th gears although there was a very quiet whine in other gears as well.
Also when in 6th when going round corners there was a slight grinding noise.
There was no slack gear lever movement in any gear or any vibration through the gearstick noticeable.
Solution
So as you should know the m32 is a bit of a lemon so after a long search on the net I found a place in Halifax that does m32 repairs for Vauxhalls while still on the car.
I rang up to see if they would do the GP and he agreed to do it (although he'd never done the GP while still on the car - he'd done loads of Corsas which is pretty much the same chassis)
So dropped it off on Tuesday morning at 9am and it was all done by 12.30. By all done that was all gearbox bearings replaced! all for just £425.
So now my gearbox is totally fixed no whines or grinding (done 400 miles since repair)
Just search Halifax Gearbox and Clutch on google/facebook.
I would recommend them as its about 1/2 the price of having a recon box fitted.
