Trying to troubleshoot this.

If you come off the accelerator, right off not gradually, the car will jerk. This is normal if you take it up to 5/6k rpm in 1st, but not 2/3krpm in 2nd or 3rd or even 4th.

I thought it may be butterfly valve sticking, but I cleaned that when I replaced the breather pipe (made a difference, no stalling!).

Could it be a mount? Would it be engine or gearbox? Also it judders in reverse, from what I've read this could be the gearbox mount, but wondering if it coincides with the other problem or if that's unrelated.

How long can you leave a dodgy mount on for? Will it do damage if left?

Have you searched for egr valve? Mine judders ver so slightly in 2 & 3 because of this, but that normally happens on slight throttle release. Also what engine do you have

1.4 8v so no EGR.

I have a 1.2 and recently i had my Engine Mounts changed due to this same problem. Jerky when letting off accelator and for reverse, well on our fiat 2007 ducato the gearboxes hate reverse and judder, which in turn makes a jerky car. I would guess at Engine mounts pal.

Cool. The engine has a bit of move in it, but I wasn't sure how much is too much.

Did you manage to get this sorted, and what was the problem as i seem to have the exact same. Changed rear mount and nothing.
