I have an 2007 Grande Punto and I need a rear window regulator. How this thing snapped when the window was being wound down for the second time is beyond me. I'm currently in a fight with FIAT regarding warranty on this.

However my question is -
What previous model Punto Grande would have the same regulators? I was thinking of picking one up from a wrecker. The one in question is from a 2006 model http://www.partsonline.com.au/display_parts_in_detail.asp?partnumber=157839&id=2717

I would be happy to hear how you get on over this, my 06 plate has done the exact same thing last night.
It has been open only a handful of timeS because there is normally only me in the car and I use the air con all the time.

Last night, while in work I just decided to clean the glass, wound it down and it wouldn't wind up again. Took the card off and discovered the cable had been cut through.

As it turns out, Fiat wanted to charge £150 plus vat for a new regulator. If I wanted to dispute the quality of the item on the car I would have to pay £70 for the dealer to do a diagnostic.

Got one off ebay for £40 second hand. Fitted in 20 minutes and now works a treat.

If the regulator isn't used for long periods of time then chances are cable will snap.

How do you actually change it over?
