Evening all,

Just received a recorded letter from Fiat regarding the upper steering shaft bolt may have not been properly secured.

It's for our old car that we traded in a few weeks ago.

So if anyone has recently bought a 07 plate multijet sporting in blue, reg FG07WKL then you need to take it to a dealer to get checked.

There's only two few months left on the warranty so hopefully they'll get it checked soon. (y)

Is there not a section on the back of the letter to complete if youve no longer got the vehicle? My Dad's had some recalls on his Vauxhall Vivaro & the letter had a returnable section if he'd sold the van - i thought that VOSA wouldve stipulated that there needed to be a section such as this on all recall letters.

I sold it to a local car supermarket.

I think it's been sold/auctioned as it's not on their website anymore.

Think i'll call the their customer services, just not convinced they'll do anything with the information hence my post. :)

Warranty has nowt to do with Safety recalls (eg, mk1 Punto brake pipe recall which came out a few years ago and covered cars back to L-reg!).

AFAIK there's a section to fill-out if you've sold the car on. Send it back to Fiat and they'll do the chasing. ;)

So you have had a `Recorded` letter regarding the recall today eh? Well on a personal basis thats a very reassuring thing to hear. Did anyone else get one today??? (y) I am hoping to get mine on Friday :)

s`ok its a personal joke :D

I had exactly the same recall for my Grande Punto that I also recently got rid of, I called my dealer who basically couldnt have cared less lol but the owners information is gathered from the DVLA for recalls I believe so if they havent got their records up to date it all goes to pot. I have no idea who now owns my car but frankly it isnt my problem anymore. However it would be nice if I could get in touch with the new owner, unfortunately I cant get that info from the DVLA just to help my conscience...!

Hi guys, I wasn't around when my recall letter came, all it said on the royal mail slip was fiat recall.... Its been over a week and they've sent the letter back to fiat because I wasnt around to pick it up.

I have a 1.4 t jet 57 plate.. Any ideas of what I should do? Do recalls go back to the original fiat dealer it was bought at? I don't know how long it will take for fiat to re-send the letter so I just need some help with what I should do.

Thanks in advance. :)

Phone Fiat customer services and speak to them. They will tell you exactly whats going on.....worked for me (y)

Or contact your nearest Dealer, give them your vehicle details, and they'll be able to tell you in 5 mins if it needs booking-in for the recall.
