As from tomorrow we will have a Grande Punto in the drive,My daughter has got rid of her 100HP for a Grande Punto GP 1.3 m/jet.
As I thought her 100hp was the best small car i'd been in, i'm hoping you guys will tell me she has done the right thing.
Will let you know how it goes.

When you say she got rid of her 100hp do you mean Panda 100hp?

People have commented that 1.3GP Mjet is rather sluggish and suffers from bad turbo lag, though i can't really comment myself having the 1.9, but any lack in power can quite easily be overcome with a remap, and also improving the already good fuel consumption even more.

I hope she enjoys her GP Ian and i wish her luck with it.

Neil, yes it was the Panda 100hp with a load of extra's, it was fitted with the PANDAMONIA KIT, and bigger alloys, it looked the part.

As for the series of the GP, all I know is that its the latest model.

Yep when we test drove we drove a 1.3 (90bhp)it had bad turbo lag, but the 1.3 (75bhp) was far quicker and smoother.

Will miss the Panda, and putting Corsa's in there place....LOL

Must be the series 2 then Ian.

Get a remap on it and you will soon be putting Corsa's in their place again.

Even if you don't get it mapped, you're still putting the corsa in the shaed anyway, with a much nicer car, better to drive and cheaper to run, insurance costs included, and yet oddly enough the new style corsa is based on the GP, so you have to ask the question, how on earth did they get it so wrong lol

Well we got it, JUST, would have been better using a boat. 90mins to get there, 5hours to get home, (roads flooded, roads closed).
One black Grande Punto 1.3 m/jet GP spec.also got the racetrack stripes put on.
Daughter is over the moon with it, Dad aint so sure, I liked the 100hp, but she paid for it, so I can only hope it turns out to be as good as the Panda.

I reckon i'll be in touch soon, as I can see Blue&Me probs looming....LOl

Blue and me 'probs' are mostly due to owner not reading the manual & incompatibility of the phone or firmware operating the phone.

The 1.3MJ is a decent engine (it pulls a doblo well enough) that has proved reliable and used in many cars. Turbo lag? well yes but theres no subsitute for C.C.s but all is good when turbo icks in & good economy. Regular (on time) servicing should see the car lasting many years. Have fun
