So my T-jet Sport finally made it to South Africa. I am crazy about the car, absolutely loving it apart from one thing that is driving me over the edge.

I sit in traffic every day of my life for about 40mins on my way to work. Stopping and pulling away constantly. Over the past week my seat has started to creek more and more every day.

This only happens in traffic at low speed. It sounds like plastic flexing, that typical "dry" cracking sound. This is extremely annoying. I've looked under the seat, wiggled it, adjusted it, everything. Nothing helps. The sound seems to be coming from the bottom rear of the seat.

I searched the forum but no-one seems to have had this.

Any tips or help PLEASE!!

T.

Hmm. Seems like this is not a common problem as no-one replied. Anyway.

The outcome is that spot welds on the backrest frame have broken, and that was making the creaking noise. No parts in SA so I have to drive the creaking car for 2 weeks until the part comes :(

I find this weird. At 95kg I am hardly the heaviest GPunto owner ever! How does somehting like this break in 3 weeks? Where's the quality control?

I probably just got the 1 reject seat out of 1 000 000+ GP seats made so far. Just my luck.

Just bad luck I would say. I am also 95kilos, (ex 2nd row lol) but haven't experienced this and done over 43,000 miles now in my GPS.

Hey Lee, yup its new so dealer ordered the part and will replace it under waranty. Its become worse now, its actually more like a crunching sound now! Scared the whole thing will collapse under me! :D
