I went to the fiat service centre I use to have my warranty work started only to be told they are closing at the end of the month so they cant start the job just incase they dont manage to get it finished. I am absolutely gutted, this garage has been the only good bit about owning the punto and now unless I drive a very long way the only place left is the Arnold Shark I bought it from, which is where it is now booked in for the work! Arnold Shark are giving me a courtesy car but wanted £10 a day for insurance, so I told them to stuff it and will insure it myself!

This is becoming standard practice everywhere due to misuse of courtesy cars which garage has to pay for.

Is there no other garages near you?

Other than the dealer i got it from (2miles from my house) and the one closing(5miles), the next nearest is 20miles away

fair enough. I dont know of any worth making the drive to though!

nearest one to me now is about 40 miles away (because i dont use wakefeld picadilly), and stoneacre fiat in doncaster has closed down i think - i havent had any luck phoning them to book my car in for service

Anybody want the dealer rating thread to run again for 2008? Any way to improve it or just a thread of 'open' dealerships?

my dad was talking to a guy at fiat parts counter yesterday at our local fiat place, and he owns a coop. he goes all the way to b'ham (not too far tbh) to get his coop serviced. not through prefrence but because no one round here will touch it because they dont see them often and dont know much. and i was like what about fiat themselves?!
