Really good guys, solid work and pretty good prices.

Bought my GP from Arnold Clark early last year, by September and 6k of use later the clutch started acting up. Thought it wasnt a big deal as i had stupidly bought their "aftercare warranty" dropped it into the garage and was told it was the friction plate that was worn down and was causing a few issues. quoted me a total of ....£803. (I also had a minor oil leak, which seemed to be coming from my sump which was also included in the price, advised replacement).

Took it to John at McDowall Motors after a friend mentioned them and was quoted a 1/4 of that to replace the full clutch (3 piece).

Upon arrival i was greeted and invited into the office, shown the issue (bearing had welded itself to the pressure plate?!) and was told " we got a some on that sump as well." so 2 issues sorted!

Also dropped the car off at 10AM and had it back by 3PM, no waiting overnight.

Can't recommend these guys highly enough, if you're looking for a good mechanic in the Ayrshire area these are the chaps to go see.
