For some time, there's been a clattering noise from under the van in the front offside area while going over rough road. Especially obvious with the drivers window wound down. (2.8 JTD 2003 X244 Mod15). I was concerned and my local garage had a good look under the van and found nothing. It's subsequently passed its MOT recently and it drives well with no sloppiness in the steering or wandering. It's done 63 k.miles.
It has cab aircon which is not working but the vertical bottle-shaped dehumidifying unit is suspended only by the two steel pipes, the bracket locating and supporting it having long-since rusted away.
I'm thinking, in the absence of anything else obvious whether this might be causing the clattering. Any views on this?
I had the headlamp out today for access and have temporarily secured the two pipes with a couple of beefy cable ties to the strut behind the headlamp, and largely eliminated the movement of the dehumidifier unit.
Anyone know if a new bracket is available please? Cheers
