Starter battery charging OK but leisure setup not charging & fridge not working on 12v (normally only works when engine running).

Can only think that I disturbed soemthing when putting on new aerial recently, moved battery out of way. Just not sure what - sounds like either a fuse that I can't see or I've managed to disconnect a relay somewhere.

Anybody know where the dual charge relay / addtional fuses are likely to be?

There usually is an electronic box near the leisure battery that takes care of charging and power distribution, like "Schaudt EBL208". It needs a control wire from the alternator to enable functions like power to the fridge, electric step, water pump etc. The power wiring is not easily disturbed because it is fairly heavy, but the control wire can be pulled loose from the vehicle wiring.

Hi, thanks for the response.
The electric step, water pump, interior lights, etc are all working off the leisure battery. The solar panels are charging the leisure curcuit but Ihave no 12v feed to the fridge or charging from the alternator.

THis makes me think that I've either inadvertently disconnected something or blown a fuse?

You may find a pair of non-original (to Fiat!) relays under the bonnet near the battery; if so one of these will supply 12v to the fridge when the engine is running.

As CDK mentions this relay will be triggered by a 12v control wire from the alternator, this will be a thin wire probably piggy-backed onto the vehicle wiring. AFAIK this wire will not be fused though the relay input from the vehicle battery will be. When the relay is closed by 12v on the control wire to the relay solenoid the 12v on the input contact will be fed through to the fridge.

If you can locate the relay you can check for these voltages with a meter.

Each converter will locate these these relays differently so if your are still stuck you might be able to find someone with the same model on one of the specific motorhome forums.

Found the relay, near the battery, no power getting to it... Investigation showed that there were several corroded connections which I guess didn't like being diturbed when I was moving the battery around. Replaced a couple of lengths of wire, new connectors and now all is working fine :) Reckon I'll do a bit of a rewire job when we get back to the UK in September...

Thank you to everybody who posted.
