Hi all

I have just aquired a 1993 Hymer B654 with a 2.5L Fiat Ducato motor and I need advice on the alternator / alternator belt as I don't seem to get much above 13.5v on either sets of battery terminals (main & leisure)

The bottom of the engine is covered by a large plate so I can't easily access the underside, however I managed to reach down and feel the belt and it doesn't seem to be very tight - is there a tensioner ?

How do you adjust / replace the alternator belt ?

How do you replace the alternator ?

Who can I ask to do this work for me in (or near) Derby ?

Where can I get some manuals ?

Cheers

Many thanks

Had a look on EPer. Appears that your alternator belt is a single vee belt, adjusted by moving the alternator on its brackets. Common system been used for years. Simple adjustment once access is obtained.
If you cannot do it yourself, every garage should be more than competent to do this, although the height of the van may restrict some.
Replacing the alternator would be a simple matter of removing the bolts and connectors. (Disconnect battery first)

If you'd prefer a dealer to do it, you can choose any Fiat, Peugeot or Citroen dealer, as Ducato is Boxer is Relay.
