Hi! I am currently planning to do a little round the world trip and am looking for a suitable van. One of the suggestions was a Ducato with an Iveco engine, most likely the previous generation (2003 onward).

They are supposed to be quite reliable, but I am afraid of the common-rail system, that can get easily clogged up by bad diesel, which I will definitely encounter. I guess I could live some occasional problems as long as there were technicians available, who could fix the car.

According to Wikipedia, Ducatos are quite common in South America (with the previous generation still being produced in Argentina), but I couldn't figure out which engines were available there.

Does anybody know which versions/engines were sold in different countries in Asia and South America?

Which engine would be the most popular - the 2.8 JTD?
