Hi all

My parents bought a converted ambulance, 2.5 1996 N reg, which had been partially converted for use as a camper.

Its not in the best state but heyho their money, and unfortunately it falls to me to sort out its niggles for them.

One of them is on one relay, all the wires have melted into one mass.

The relay has a green base, with 5 pins, 4 of which are used.

pin 87 - 2 orange wires
pin 85 - Blue/white wire
pin 30 - Orange & yellow/black wire
pin 86 - Orange/black wire

The relay is identical to all the others and I am unable to identify what circuit it is working with.

Any ideas?

Also, there is a blue relay that has been removed from a pink base. Any ideas what this one was used for?

Another question if I may?

As I say the Ducato is a converted ambulance (passenger tansport), and has side mounted scene light. This works if I power it directly so I know the light is fine. The wires to it have no power, but continuity is there, and the same issue is also at the switch, continuity but no power. No fuses that I can see have blown and I can't trace the wires any further than where they disappear travelling towards the engine bulkhead from the dash. It is completely baffling me :(

Annoyingly, everything vehicle related seems to be functioning ok, ie starts and drives etc, except that the keycode light is permantly lit  , but the little nitty gritty things that I can't get working are doing my head in :bang::bang:

Any help you can offer will be much appreciated :)

Right, after removing each relay in turn I deduced it was the glow plug relay. Unfortunately unable to replace the wires but have managed to separate most of them and re-insulate, hopefully that will be enough.

Still no idea what the blue relay is for though having rechecked the pink, the lead that has power would not be connected to the replay so a little more puzzling.

I've also sorted the scene light, turns out one of the fuse connections had become detached and lodge to one side, so it looked like it was on the blade when it wasn't.

Just to add to our problems, the sliding door handle broke so if anyone has any tips for how to fit a new one then they too would be gratefully received :)
