Hi All

I have a camper on a Ducato 2007 (x250) chassis and I want to be able to use the interior light for a long time.
After a while the interior light now dies and I am being forced to open a door or to switch on (and off) my contact using the key.

I was able to remove the interior light and it has a connector with 3 pins. (numbered 1 through 3).

I measure 12V between 1 and 2 where 2 is the + and 1 the earth.
I also measure 12V between 2 and 3 where 2 is the + and 3 the earth.
I noticed that the + (pin 2) is being switched off after several minutes.

Anyone having a brilliant idea to help me out? :D

Hi, did you ever get this working? Information I have it that this is a timer issue and v expensive to sort?

Just purchase off eBay an L.E.D interior light kit for the ducato van, switch on/switch off :)

But surely the map reading light function should work whatever the situation? I can understand the door light function being on a timer but not the map reading bit!

Map is't much use if the battery is flat :p I personally think its a great feature my wife flattens the battery in her car with the festoon light about 5 times a year I'm sure she'd be doing the same with the van except for the timer.

Without a diagram handy I would think the body computer controls the interior light so when that 'goes to sleep' after 60 seconds the only way to activate the interior light is to wake up the body computer by opening a door.

You could modify the interior light so one map reading light can be controlled independently to the rest of the light or as suggested buy a after market light which would seem the best option.
