Travelled 200 miles motorway no problem, (2006 Jtd) when turned off on slip road, low on power. Next traffic island even less; and on reaching home 3 miles, not enough to pull into my drive. Smoke, and could floor the throttle pedal, wait ten seconds and by then all of 1200 rpm.
Could not drive, so could not take to garage. Two weeks exploration of the net and Fiat Garages decided EGR valve/system. Slackened EGR valve flange at top LHS engine and inserted blanking plate made of thin aluminium. Problem solved, drives great, and able to take for permanent repair at my leasure.
Recommend Imperial Garage Derby, most helpfull and knowledgable in my hour of need.
