Hi,
have Fiat Ducato 1990 2.5TD
symptoms
mainly when engine is performing heavy duty eg climbing the mobilhome starts to shiver sideways and has a consistent loss of power. Downshift is imperative untill hill is crossed.
- no significant extra smoke exhaust
frequency
more and more
sometimes symptoms dissapear on the next hill but mostly not
reasoning
first idea was tire balancing but then it should be consistently present and in gradations of shivering.
talked to a garageholder and he mentioned that the cause could be the injection and that it is dangerous to keep on driving (burned pistons)
that thought seems logical, its just as if 1 or 2 pistons do not work anymore.
reaction
stop engine for 5 mins and then (most of the times) symptoms are gone, not always.
changed the diesel filter and at first it was better, then old symptoms came back.
anybody same problem? whats the solution? can I do it myself?
