Iv got 6 rusty snapoed of bolts on my roof and need to get my new bars fitted asap. Any tips on getting them out without knackering the thread would be great. Cheers peeps

Are they definitely Metal bolts or those cr***y plastic things Fiat put in there to stop water filling them not had one come out whole the plastic ones are easy carefully drill them out then thread tap the rust & remainder of the plastic out use a bottoming tap & try & blow crap out as you go use copper slip & good quality stainless set screws Screws are 6mm x 1 Pitch

Arrr, funny u should say about them being plasic as 1 had a plastic kinda cap on top witch snapped off when i tried pulling it off witch i thought was strange. So u rekon there plastic? Fingers crossed they are. Cnt check atm as im working away but will have a proper look when home. Cheers

It hapened the same to me. # oh them just broke, and now i can´t use the roof bars.
Sucks....
P.s.- they are in metal

Yes, I did drill, one of them, but i didnt like the results,.... lol
So i keeped my hands (drill), away from the other two.
