It's possible but doubtful as the act of turning over the engine by bumping it in gear over comes whatever problem it has.

It's hard to see the link between that action and anything electrical, it's more a mechanical thing.

So will that simply mean the pump as all other parts will be electrical - relief valve, injectors etc, ??
Or can you advise further.

The pump in the tank seems all ok - can hear it everytime the ignition is switched on. I put a new filter on it yesterday as I don't know if or when it has been changed. When I was doing it I checked the hoses - for fuel flow - the hose that comes out - from tank through filter and to main pump did flow but when I put new filter on and used this outlet to bleed the new filter it shot out and covered me in diesel !! Don't know yet if this will be the cure for the bad starting but will let you know - glow plug light still flashing about 10 - 15 seconds after starting !?
Can anyone tell me what the black plastic box about a foot or so to the left of the filter housing is for - 2 electrical plugs on the back and held on to the bulkhead with a 10mm nut ?? 1 PLUG WAS HANGING DOWN THE BACK OF IT - NOT PLUGGED IN.

plenty of issues before with people running dodgy fuel , and messing up supply,

box = could be glowplug related.. you can post a pic;)

Not very computer literate for pictures but it's about 4 x 3 x 2 inches - the only black plastic box on the bulkhead.
