hi i have a doblo1.9 jtd and its starts but then cuts out .but once left for couple of minutes will start and cut out again. on inspection the fuel is getting pumped to engine then it stops pumping after about 30 seconds .checked voltage going to tank and the power cuts out to the primar after 30 seconds stopping the fuel going to engine . woz wondering if enayone noo wot the problem could be :):)

hi dont no wen filter got changed as not had van long got low fuel pressure code coming up and egr valve code.would enay of these stop power going to tank. thanks

My belief is that the priming pump in the tank does exactly that, initially pushes the fuel up at initial start up then the pressure pump takes over by sucking the fuel up through the system. I base that on a problem I had when I could hand prime to get initial start up and then the main pressure pump would take over and the engine would continue to run. All this when the tank priming pump would not cut in.
Wouldn't hurt to change the fuel filter but it might be an idea if you can plumb in a small section of clear fuel line pipe to see if you've got any air ingress in the fuel system. You'll see the air bubbles through the clear section of pipe.
The EGR valve is cleanable but it's a bit more than just cleaning the chamber. I found it necessary to remove the electrical solinoid section to see if the spring mechanism was free. Recently done mine and couldn't even shift it with G clamp pressure. That was after it had been in soak for a week submerged in parrafin. I used a nasty ink stripper to free mine but I have read on here that brake fluid or contract cleaner is an option. The spring mechanism needs to be free enough so that you can push it with finger pressure.

check your crank sensor, had same issue cost 40 quid for replacement and fitting mine did the old stopping as if you'd taken the key out a few times then it got worse... other possibilities, fuel filter, fuel pump, egr but got the code read and it was crank sensor 15 quid part....

when you turn the key the fuel pumps then stops. I think its just making sure filter is full...

does your engine management light come on?... I disconnected the battery to clear code/turn of light and mine would restart ..the guy who sorted mine said they go a couple of times then give up all together.. (crank sensor)

Mine stops for several hours then starts runs for a bit then stops. I have checked the filter and there is fuel
coming out of it... There is a sensor just below the infector pump... I can just about get my left hand in... When I disconnected it then connected it again it started, I have been doing this for months every time it stops, but now that does not work.

I am on here trying to get a manual.

Crank sensor... May be the fuel cuts of when the ecu tells it to...ie when the crank sensor is not sending a signal.
There are quite a few with similar symptoms.
Mine squirts fuel from the filter output only when I turn the engine over, not when the ignition is just on.
