My 02 Doblo 1.9jtd sometimes looses power and the engine management light sometimes comes on. When I use multiecuscan it shows error P1671 Fuel pressure regulator.
So I thought I would check the regulator and wiring before buying a new one.
But I cant find it! Anyone know where it is fitted? I can see the fuel pressure sensor but not the regulator.
Anyone ever changed one? Is it easy job once you have found it?

Regulator shouid be on the HP pump'.

Preasure sensor you found will be on the Rail,

regulator,is held on hp pump with 2 x 10mm bolts iirc check the end of it the needle part for being gummed up sticky,

careful here as there fragile,

Yep. Eventually found it on end of hp pump. I only found it after removing the plastic box above it which I think is diesel return manifold.
I removed the regulator and the sensor and cleaned them. The regulator was a bit gummed up. I also blanked the egr.
I have put it all back together and had it running but have not driven it yet.

Hi,
get adecent fuel adative and throw it in the tank,

eg. Forte or Millers, and give it a bootful somewhere quiet, ;)

I dont buy fuel additives anymore. I used to but then I found something better. For many years now I have put ATF directly into a new fuel filter and then drive it hard and fast (Italian tune up!) on the motorway for 20 to 30 miles.
When I first got my Doblo 6 months ago it was doing 48mpg on a run @70mph.
After doing the above I was getting 56mpg @70mph.
Since doing the recent cleaning of regulator and sensor the eml light does not come on now but the mpg is up and down. Some days it is down with a bit of vibration from the engine. So time to get out the ATF..............
Btw I use Landrover Discovery 300tdi fuel filters on the Doblo. Cant connect the warning light wires to the bottom of it but at £1.95 +vat each........................
