My Doblo 1.9 jtd cranks over normally but will not start. It had worked ok the day before. It can be tow started and will then run fine. If I drive around until it is warm and then switch off it will not restart on the key even after 20-30 seconds. This eliminates glowplugs. Could it be high pressure pump, injectors or maybe cam sensor.

Check the earth strap, as these can snap or corrode which can lead to poor starting.

Yes I know what you mean, this has happened before and been repaired. It is still ok. When it broke last time the dash lights came on but starter failed to engage. This time the starter cranks fine for ages but just won't fire up.

Hi just wondering how you got on with your starting problem as I have exact problem

yours sincerely

Well.....I have exact the the problem on Ducato 11 2.0 jtd
Replacing the diesel filter will get it up and running for about 5k km. Then.....same problem again :bang:

I found information in "Car Mechanics" magazine that suggests the woodruff key which locks the bottom timing sprocket to the crankshaft can wear. This would cause the timing to move half a tooth out. I will look at this when I can.

Removed crankshaft timing sprocket. The key that stops it spinning on the crankshaft was destroyed so it was a few teeth out. Finding a replacement sprocket isn't easy.

Now thats exciting. Can't wait to get mine from winter storage :)

Got another runaround while doblo sulked on the drive. Finally decided would test pump and injectors. They were worn so had them reconditioned. Started straight away.
