Every morning when I start my 2006 Doblo 1.9 Dynamic (120) I get a warning Beep, Beep. Beep and either ABS Failure or EBD Failure.
The local dealer says there is nothing wrong with the car - I reckon there is a computer problem as there is no sign of a brake problem YET.
Anybody any ideas - FIAT UK said talk to your dealer - what a waste of time.

Dealer again says there is nothing wrong with the car.

hi had this a few times before on doblo taxis before sometimes comes up with errors in abs ecu and sometimes doesn't if you replace the earth lead from battery down to chassis leg and gearbox cures this! Which dealer was this?

Dealer was Disira, Norwich,
And many thanks for your input, I shall do as you say.

i have the same fault that comes up in my 07 plate 120bhp multijet taxi.doesnt do it every day,got it looked at by the garage i use 2 service it and they say it doesnt come up with any faults when plugged in to the fault finder

Exactly the same on my 2006. I am going with the weak battery theory as it happens more when cold. I imagine that low voltage under cranking could make the computer freak out. |Not worrying about it!

Do also check the main battery earth lead all the way from the battery to where it bolts onto the chassis or gearbox as a couple of folks here have had failures through corrosion of the lead where the ends of the lead are swaged onto the soft metal bit that the bolt goes through. This has led to some strange things going on.

The various ecu's are often very voltage or current sensitive and will throw out warnings if they don't get exactly the correct voltage or current.

Why? thats what dealerships are for:confused:

Also, I think there are post out there about spurious errors when battery is getting tired.

Yes this can happen (does it on multiplas as well) if whatever ECU does not see a pre-determined voltage it will flag a voltage warning. Similar to punto steering light voltage errors etc

Sadly, not all dealers are equal. Some love to take your hard-earned & all they will do is plug the car into a computer - if computer says there are no errors, the dealer says there is nothing more they can do!

That is why these forums are such a great source of info from experienced people such as yourself.

Totally agree, spent nearly a hundred quid when I kept getting spurious alarms every day only to be told "Computer Says No Faults". I changed the battery and no problems since for 6 months now.

Surely all that experience would come to bear? Mech says, customer having problem xxx, 'puter says nothing wrong... anyone? Instead they all sit there scratching their heads.
come on these forums & someone, potentially, on the other side of the planet can give you a couple of pointers - might be completely wrong but worth checking out, especially if they cost nothing/little.

Hi There.

I have a very similar problem on my Multijet 1.3 diesel.
When I put the keys n the ignition and turn to the first click, the Amber ABS light comes on. When I start the vehicle, it stays on. I have checked and cleaned all o the sensors and still no difference. The ABS does seem to be working because I had to brake sharply and it kicked in. I have had a diagnostic done and it shows no errors.
Im beginning to wonder what else I shoild try?
Do you know of diagnostics software I can obtain to reset the ABS light?
