Hello. Please can someone tell me how to replace my hazard switch? I recently got a Croma 1.9 automatic (diesel). The hazaed switch was missing, and I just got one off ebay. How do I fix it in the space? Thanks

Hi,

As far as I remember it pops in upwards - from inside the abyss. You'll need to remove the plastic gators - small and large - from the console and get inside then attach to wiring. Be careful not to drop it though - it can be really difficult to find it again.

You may even find that the original button is inside the hole sleeping at the bottom of the abyss!

Good Luck

The hazard switch is actually not that well secure/located/fixed.

At my last MOT the tester (who I know well over the years) apologised as he gently punched, as opposed to gently press, the hazard switch which then receded into the abyss. No harm done, the switch clicked back in and now both of us are wiser to the fragility/sensitivity of this particular component.

From and engineering point of view certain buttons/pedals/etc. in a car can expect forceful abuse in emergency situations (like hazard light switches) so they should be engineered to support expected forceful us.
