Right.. after numerous hours of abuse and shouting, finally got the GB back in.

Slight problem though..the release actuator (arm at the from of the GB that the clutch cable operates) now only travels about 50mm until it stops, unlike the 100-150mm it travelled before- with no clutch cable.

My initial thought is that Ive installed the release bearing wrong and thats fouling the release mech.. But im going to set it up and hope it isnt...

---Amendment!!!---

Anyone know the size of the drain plug key (15 \ 17mm)??
Halfrauds do up to a 17mm, but the parts CD says M22 (Assuming thats the thread pitch)!

More Ideas???

Bugger. I was hoping you of all people would be able to shed light on the actuator travel. Ill know if it doesnt work... Cheers for 'dat though.

Yep, it is release arm travel...sorry if that was unclear.

Ive been looking into it and it looks as if it is just because it is a new clutch! So I am hoping that is what it is..I really cant be arsed with removing the GB again!!

Another thing...It appears to have no spring tension forcing the arm back...admittedly the original clutch didnt, but it seems strange.

Suppose it is a suck it and see approach

:D

That's cos you can't actually operate the clutch with your hand in the engine bay, it takes waaaaaay more force than that. What you are doing is moving the clutch arm along it's free travel. Adjust the cable up so the pedal sits about 1/2" under the brake as a rough first guide, then set the pedal travel to 105mm.

Wehey!! Sorted!!

Clutch works, havent been arsed to adjust it fully yet (running out of clutch cable thread), and think I might have stretched the clutch cable. But it works and that's cool...

Also, the wheel arch liner on the Passenger side doesnt want to sit in properly, are they "keyed" - is one for a particular side?

Well one side fits perfectly, thats the drivers side....

Thre other I have secured using two of the fixing points, but cant find the third..

Having said that, the fixing for that point has sheared- so that needs replacing...
