Hi there,

its me here again, very strange trouble making me crazy,

when using front screen washer (wipers switch stick pulled to wheel) it makes spray the rear window,
sometimes its fine, sometimes not, some 50/50, otherwise rear washer is working normal
- I guess there only can be switch trouble, or could be something else?? any fix for switch, not only replacing with new one?

and, its 2001 Sei,

thanks

The Sei pump only has one motor, it spins one way for front screen and the other way for the rear screen. If it was wired the wrong way then I'd expect this to happen each time it was used. I suspect what's happened here is there is a faulty non-return valve.

Thanks for response, I opened stalk unit and theres nothing wrong with it, cleaned it, grease it, and its still happening, so that will be faulty pump \ valve, as arc said. I just need some time to get to it :(, Iam bit lazy now:),

Is there lot of work to get to it?? I guess wheel off, arch mudguard, tank off..??

at the front of the car at the radiator near the bonnet catch you will see a thin rubber screen wash hose with a non return valve in it ,if you grab the hose and seperate it from the valve let it dangle over the car and then grab the wiper stalk and pull it and if theres a good flow of water comes out the pipe then its the valve thats faulty ,,,take the valve out and if you look down it you wont see any light stick something like a thin screwdriver the type for tiny screws on spec frames are good down the hole and burst through the rubber membrane till theres now daylight when you look through the valve.reconnect it to the hose and you should now have a working rear screen wash.theres also one for the front screen wash which if you trace the rubber hose is usually near the battery and suspension strut again poke a hole through it ...ive found this to be the most common issue for dodgy screen wash where sometimes it works sometimes not if this doesnt sort it then afraid its time for a new pump.....you can also buy new non return valves on ebay for about 4 quid a valve but as the fiat is so small you dont really need them anyway...hope this helps

so I checked those valves (it can be easily opened by inserting knife etc. in the small gap, pop- and it will open - there is small rubber ring which I cleaned up and turned over, and stretched small spring which is pushing onto that rubber ring), and its working for now, hopefully wont go wrong again.

Thanks!
