I've found this Punto on Ebay when looking for a cheap 1242 16V engine to give me a chance against Micra 1400's on the track.
The bloke clearly hasn't had the best of ownership enrichment with this car, to say the least. Has to be the most honest description I've ever seen.
Still if the engine is OK, might be a cheap place to start your upgrade from.

i don't think is worth is from a conversion point of view. As all you are using is the engine.

Where if you were buying a mark 1, you could use the inlet, exhuast mani. loom ecu etc etc.

Think it would be better for you to buy a bare engine than this whole car. Of course unless you are looking to break this for parts!

What a joy to read his honesty. Shame about the car though, although a lot of issues, they are all fixable, ...BUT... the water pump failure could have caused engine damage. It doesn't say whether the pump has been replaced, but his description of the heater now working suggests it might have been.
Any bidders need to keep an open mind, and probably an open wallet afterwards.

As it appears your car is Mpi you don't necessarily need a Mk1 as it will be plug and play with your current ecu, you just need to acquire a 16v non return fuel rail.
