Technical Scangauge

I'm not that concerned about fuel consumption, more about the other things this gauge does i.e water temp, ignition timing, engine loading etc.

I sent Fiat Uk an email asking the same thing, got back a standard reply asking me to contact my local dealer.

Does anyone know if a 2002 Seicento Sporting has a OBD2 port and where is it?

Despite a few negative comments i went ahead and bought on of these, i've had it on for a few days now and i'm happy with the results.
I wanted basically a temperature gauge, but after reading the guide on how to fit one and looking at the price i thought this was an easier option than messing around cutting pipes trying to wire it up, bleeding the system etc etc.

So straight out the box, plug the lead into the back of it, the other end into the OBD" port, switch the ignition on and i get a "Connecting" message, 10 seconds later its sorted out and the readings are available.
Engine on and i can see my water temp rising, starting at 19c after a 5 mile run its showing 78c and tends to stay there, i park up and leave the engine running at 97c the fan kicks in and brings it down to 90c fairly quickly.
I've not had time to have a play with everything on it and havent set up the fuel side yet as you need to do that with a full tank (mine leaks) but i did notice my RPM at tickover is around 780 once warm, and you start feeling warm air through the heater at around 50c.

For anyone that wants a reasonable water temp gauge but doesnt want the hassel of cutting hose's and working out wiring, this is a nice easy option, it even comes with velcro strips to hold it in place (mines below the stereo) and the lead tucked away underneath.
When you switch on it starts itself after 5 seconds and switches itself off 5 seconds after you turn the car off, and the back light colour can be changed to several colours, the red is a great match for the standard speedo and rev counter.

Well now i have a water temp gauge so hopefully i'll see any problems before they get to far, which is the reason i bought it and because i lost my last car to that problem.

ye id like to no if it measured fuel pressure aswell :)

and say if you where doing a little bit more then you should be on the motorway and the police pull you, id say they could check ur max speed on that trip :(

Right i was popping out tonight so i fired up my Seicento and thought i'll go through this scangauge while it warms up.
I didnt bother with the fuel side of things as i've not set it up to that side yet (you have to tell it when the tanks full then empty then full again and it works all the rest out, but as my tank leaks theres only ever 2 gallon max in it at the moment).

The digital gauge side of it allows you to see any 2 of the following on screen at the same time Like this
p.php

So in the order i went through them these are the results.

16c WT - Water temperature.
0 mph - This does work once you set off.
1165 rpm - Rpm works as it should.
11 TPS - Throttle position sensor, yes the figure increased when i revved it.
0.03 TCO - Todays carbon dioxide
0.04 CO2 - Current carbon dioxide
--- DFC - Days fuel cost (no reading not set up yet)
--- TFC - Trip fuel cost (no reading not set up yet)
--- CPM - Cost per mile
13.9 VLT - Battery voltage
17c IA - Intake air temp (might be handy seeing which filter kits do suck hot air in)
--- FPR - Fuel pressure no reading (it does say most cars dont have this facilty)
7 IGN - Ignition timing (does change when you rev the engine)
15 LOD - Engine loading (does change when you rev the engine)
CLSD/OPEM LP - Fuel system loop status, (opens when revved)
5.5 MAP - Manifold pressure

MPG & GPH both not reading (as mentioned above)

So thats what it does (in addition to being a fuel computer giving mpg, cost per mile, fuel left etc) i've not gone through the manual in detail, i'm only really interested in the water temp.

Is it worth £80?
Well a temp gauge plus mount, plus hose connector and temp probe, throw in some wiring, antifreeze and a few hours of your time then this is a much easier option and the cost is about the same, so for me yes it is.
The other bits will come in handy now and then, being able to check your battery instantly is helpfull, and as i mentioned before finding out your new air filter is really sucking in hot air all the time.

There is another version the Scangauge 2, this will keep records of 0-60mph times, lap times, braking performance and a few other things, as well as displaying error codes and lettting you reset warning lights etc.

Hi, if you have an Android phone the torque app does the same. You'll need a Bluetooth obd2 adapter (about 20 quid on ebay). The app is free but you can pay 3 pound I think for more bells and whistles. This is what I use and it does all of the above and more. My favourite is a g meter. It also reads ecu fault codes if you want it to. It's very good.

Apologies for reviving an old thread, but I thought I'd just share my experience of the Scangauge 2.

I've had mine for about 4 years having bought it directly from the European distributor in Greece. I'd been happy with it all that time, just using it really to monitor RPM, actual speed, water temp and battery voltage. However whilst trawling through t'internet, I discovered that the Scangauge had undergone several firmware updates since I bought mine. My Scangauge was on version 3.14 and the latest version is 4.06. I phoned the distributor in Greece about getting it upgraded, but for me personally, the hassle of posting it to Greece and the Euro conversion etc, just put me off. Anyway, a couple of days ago, I discovered this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ScanGauge...iagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3cc0b9a8a1

There are two versions, mine is identical to the one in the link not the one shown in ScottT's post.

Turn around time for me was 48 hours from postage. For 25 quid, I've effectively got a new Scangauge with lots and lots of extra functions. I think it's an excellent bit of kit and a far better alternative to fitting extra gauges. I had to download a brand new pdf instruction booklet and I've been busy reding through it today.

If you're a bit of a gadget geek like me, you'll probably like this bit of kit. If you've got a version with older firmware, I'd definately recommend the upgrade. ;)
PS. I am in no way associated with the company in the link. I am however, a very happy customer! :D
