Hello,

First post on here!
I bought my second broom yellow seicento sporting last week and i am loving it (except for the fact it is getting it's windscreen replaced today but hey ho!!).

When i was buying it I jokingly said that i would love to have a fob key to open the door rather than the key in the door, due to juggling around my little one and such when getting back to the car.
The guy selling it said he was sure that there was a kit you could get where a sensor would clip under the car somewhere and would remotely open up.

Has anyone heard of this and is it a genuine Fiat part or another company? And where do i get one? Any help would be greatly recieved.

Thank you
Nats :)

you could get this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIAT-PUNTO-MULTIPLA-99-REMOTE-DOOR-LOCKING-KIT-GEN-PT_W0QQitemZ320374406759QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item4a97cd7e67&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A4|65%3A7|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A3|294%3A200

or if you can, find a sporting with remote central locking in a scrappys and just get the relay and fobs, changing the relay to the remote one will take 20-30 seconds.

Please can you elaborate a bit more on the relay required, will only the relay need changed ? No additional wiring etc.

Cheers

all the remote bits are inside the relay, the remote control ones got a wire dangling out the back of it. all you need to change is that relay, hidden behind the dash, then thats it. you have remote central locking. as long as you hare central locking in the first place tho.

Fortunately mine has actuator solenoids in both the doors, you can check this by locking the passenger door whilst inside. If both doors have the neccessary solenoids the drivers door will lock.

Any idea where to look for this relay under the dash ? Sounds like a preferrable option to me :0

Cheers

Does anyone know from what month/year Sei's were fitted with remote locking ?

i think its always been an option but I think the MK2 sportings have it and I think the MK1 Abarths did too.

Interesting, I believe I have indeed a MK1 abarth. That might explain the actuators in both doors. I'll have to go out and have a look for this yellow relay.

How would I go about getting a new fob if indeed the relay is there ?

Any idea of cost/procedure ?

If I remember right, in the handbook you have a little card with the code on it, I'm at work at the mo so will have to have a look when i get back. failing that it maybe easier to got a relay and fobs from a car being broken.

bummer, looks like I maybe wrong about the MK1 abarths havin it then.

I am assuming that because I have Abarth skirts, alloys, spoilers and headrest logos that I do have a MK1 Abarth but I am happy to be corrected.

What else should an Abarth have ?

If it says Abarth on the registration document? But some would have been retrofits or pre delivery by dealers, donno about the grille work 'Abarth' legend.

If the remots relay had been replaced with the basic model after it broke does not mean it was not there from new...

Hey and the collary is it is a standard Fiat part and they might sell the fob and relay as a pair...

Does all this apply to the Cinq Sporting as well?

As I have such a car and no remote locking. Does have central locking.

I'd like to have remote locking.

Thanks.
