First post, so Hi to all.

I'm urgently trying to find a replacement timing chain for a Seicento 899 on a V plate. Fiat Blackpool were my first port of call, unfortunately Fiat no longer supply timing chains for Seicentos.......I was a little surprised .
Have tried local Motor Factors and still no joy.
Has anyone any thoughts on where I can buy a replacement timing chain or kit ?

hello

try looking on the net for Andrew page ltd, partco or (unipart automotive) as there some times known, breakers yards if you want a second hand one with lowish milage, Auto world fiat, i would imagine at least one of these will have one for you, i was a mechanic up untill last friday and i would have rung Autoworld fiat for that application i cant imagine they wouldnt have one!

Thanks for such a prompt reply Jason.
Have tried all the local factors inc. Unipart, Andrew Page etc. No joy unfortunately, and Fiat agents all come up with " Exhausted Supply" which I am told by Fiat UK, means no longer available.
I think the part will have to be sourced from an engine specialist , can't believe that nobody supplies timing chains for a relatively recent production engine.
Any more ideas......anyone ?

Spoke to Big Mick , who was very helpful ,but has not had any joy as yet in tracking down a replacement part for me.
Looks like I'm not the only one to be surprised at Fiat no longer supplying this item.

the only thing i can duggest really is get one from another engine, its very rare timming chains need touching,,,,,unless you own a corsa!!!
speak to some scrap and breakers yards (as many as possible) see what you can come up with one that way.

If you go that route, all the 899 & 903 engines use the same chain.
So: Cinquecento, Seicento, Uno, Panda.

It's funny you should say that , because I was able to buy a timing chain kit for the 903 from " Ultra parts ". However it came with a self adjusting chain (extra curved links) , and when fitted made a terrible racket fouling the alloy timing chain cover.
Again thanks for all the advice, and whilst we are on the subject , how do I add to the thanks tally beneath every ones name ?

It was a boxed Ultra parts item, however inside the box was a genuine Fiat chain and sprockets.
