I guess the answer is "it's a fiat...", but I'm still scratching my head as to why depreciation hit Bravos so hard. My '07 1.9 150 Dynamic was just over £2k exactly a year ago (100k miles).

They're a lot of car for the money and seem to be getting rare as hen's teeth. They don't have the first-car feeling of the Grande Punto and are significantly more comfy. Insurance and tax is cheapish, and I've put many a modern BMW/Audi/Boy Racer Fiesta to shame at the lights.

My car history has been Saxo - Astra SXI - Golf MK4 - Bravo, and the Bravo's definitely been my favourite.

One of life's mysteries?

The market loves small Fiats. Medium and large Fiats have usually been ignored by the market, especially so used. They therefore make a great bargain as a used car, but best if intending to keep for a long time. Keep it, enjoy it, ignore its resale value.

You're right. There are so many more 1.9 JTD Vauxhalls than Fiats about... and I'm led to believe they are either the same or very similar engine.

I love the torque feeling when putting your foot down in 2nd gear. Still puts a smile on my face even after a year of ownership

I don't think mine's got much depreciating left to do, but even if it does and something big goes wrong, I'll buy another for ~£1500. It's bordering on banger money these days!
