I know some people have added an AUX in to their non-B&M head units but has anyone done this with a B&M compatible cd player?

Having never thought I would ever need AUX in with having my music on USB stick I have now discovered the benefits of streaming radio stations!

I'm sure the rear of the OEM unit can be easily 'hacked' like the mk3 Panda's, although can't remember if the software allows the 'aux' feature if you hit the CD button a few times or not. I'll check the wiring digram of mine thats sitting in the garage for you :)

Cheers!

You lose all control over what sound is coming out of your speakers, mixing music, phone and blue&me voice outputs together. not to mention it's very easy to fry the radio or blue&me by overloading the board.

I don't understand how it would fry out the radio? It's exactly the same as installing a normal aux plug into the radio then using a 3.5mm splitter to input two phones into the head unit, the output from a phone jack is only about 60mW.

the problem is by sticking two input together like that, you're sending audio from one output to another.

if you plug you phone to one of the "inputs", and then someone calls you, the blue&me unit will send the very loud ringing tone through the same cable, and that signal will go straight into your phone's audio output board and possibly fry it.

two audio outputs are not supposed to be stuck together like that, it's not like power cords, that's why DJs use mixers and not electrical tape to mix their audio.

I'm trying to do the same thing.. I work with the guy that figured out how to get the CD input working as AUX on the Doblo with a resistor (cant use the same trick on the Bravo as B&M is in that slot), and he reckoned it was worth trying the telephone input pins on the stereo..

It looks like it would work on his radio (its got the pins labelled on a sticker on the radio) but I haven't managed to find an actual pinout of the Bravo stereo yet to 100% confirm it's the same pinout.

It's on my list of things to try as it seems likely it will work, B&M isn't using the phone signal pin for the BT phone system.. it sends a message down the bus to the radio to change the text (as it says media or phone depending on what mode its in)

Does anyone know if there was a possibility to order the bravo with phone system but NOT B&M? If so does anyone have a photo of the wiring on the radio on that option?

Yeah that would be an easier way to do it, looks like a decent product.. but I only want it to get my kindle's audio in the car occasionally, so for me its not worth spending money on it..

If I can get it to work for free though im interested.

I heard that the new version of blue&me can receive audio input by bluetooth. Might be worth trying to upgrade the blue&me software and see if it works.

If bluetooth audio works that's the best solution, it's very convenient and audio quality is better than a shoddy wiring job.

most bravo's older than 2009(?) with the first generation blue&me wont be able to upgrade. Unfortunately it looks like theyve stopped allowing us to update :( we're stuck on 5.6 forever..
