Hi All, I got a 1.4 Bravo Dynamic a few weeks ago ,its a 57 registered dec 07...and still dont know if the cd player plays mp3 discs ? hav read around the threads on here and found the latest sound system manual link, thanks for that ,it seems to be the same unit in my car.....

so far iv tried cd-rw and cd-r mp3 data discs....burned and finalised with nero...it spits them out with 'cd rom' error. My HU doesnt have the mp3 logo below the cd in-out tray, but does have the mp3 and folder light in the LED display...can anyone shed any light ,is it incapable of playing mp3 discs ?? blue and me is great for the mobile fone...probably saved me an eventual fine !!! lol.....and usb is good to have, but of course the usb only powers on with ignition therefore constantly interupting whatever im listening to and reverting back to the tuner and cd when stopping the car....(n) Im sure i read on here that after a certain time ALL units played mp3 discs ?

I have the MP3 CD unit and it definitely does have the MP3 logo on the fascia. So it sounds like you have the non-MP3 one I'm afraid.

I mostly use the USB port but as you've mentioned it's bloody annoying that it only works with ignition on. Also, the Bravo is the only car I've ever driven that doesn't have an "ACC" position on the ignition switch, which most cars have to allow the radio and certain other stuff to work without actually having the ignition on.

Thanks guys, confirming what's become apparent since getting the car, ie..it dont play no mp3 disc's !! lol...of course, its easy to burn cda discs with music instead or use the stick with music...my problem is i listen to podcast stuff which can be 2-3 hours long, losing the place halfway through one of those is a killer...hence why mp3 discs were ideal...:) i agree with the ignition switch comment, very unusual (n)

I'd recommend picking up a few cheapo USB drives for music. You'll be able to fit several 3-hour podcasts on an 8gb stick which can be had for under a tenner a piece :)
