Hi there
As the title states, I'm having a problem with a friends brava.
It's a 51 plate Brava 1.6 elx less than 50000 on the clock.
The problem started 23rd Dec. when on their way home, the engine just died as they got home. They called me as I replaced two injectors around 2 month ago for them, since then the car has been fine until now

I tried anything and everything I could think of
Checked injectors, coils, sparks, HT leads, inertia switch, fuses basically all the easy fix parts, but in all that I wasn't getting a petrol smell and the plugs were dry, eventually I disconnected the fuel pipe from teh top of the engine bay and there was no fuel coming through at all, ignition was switched on, engine cranked, still nothing, unplugged the fuel pipe in the boot, under the cover, and got covered in fuel, but I didn't depresurize it first.
So I'm thinking either the pump has gone or the relay (whereever that is) or faulty inertia switch.

Any help would be nice as they are disabled friends and need the car A.S.A.P

Edit: I forgot to mention, they've told me that they never heard any noise from the pump since they had the car.

inertial fuel cut off switch is a simple element. you should disconnect it and measure its resistance with ohmmeter. it should be 0.

also try to supply fuel pump with 12v manually. that means you should take a long piece of wire and connect it to the battery. if it does not run, it is dead or jammed. not often but possible explanation would be a piece of hard material jamming the pump but...

Does the relay click when the ignition is switched on? do you have woltage supply on the coil packs ? middle wire should be 12v for a few seconds as the pump is tied to the same junction.

There is a relay click when the ignition is turned, and as for direct wiring the fuel pump, which connections? I would assume the two thicker wires, brown/white, and blue/yellow (not sure on the colour there as it was dark when I finally got to it it was filthy) the other two thinner wires I would suspect to be the fuel gauge

Getting to the inertia switch will be annoying as it looks like it's behind the metal body of the car (passenger footwell, just in front of the door), but will give it a try

Thank for the help offered and will post back any findings

Edit: Haynes manual says brown/white and blue for the wiring

Thanks for the help Gumetina.
It was the inertia/fuel cut-off switch, replaced with one from a marea as it wouldn't reset, car now up and running until the next breakdown.

Thanks again
